At Battle of Middleburg Mt. Defiance Historic Park you’ll follow the steps of Civil War History. Explore  the key point of the Battle of Middleburg fought on June 19, 1863. The battle occurred just 10 days after the Battle of Brandy Station and 14 days before the Battle of Gettysburg. The park is a wonderful place for history and nature enthusiasts alike.  Visit the historic civil war-era buildings still standing at Mt. Defiance, including a blacksmith’s shop and cottage. Guests are not permitted inside the structures but are free to walk the surrounding grounds. Tour the grounds of Battle of Middleburg Mt. Defiance Historic Park on a walking path that explores the property and provides several historic markers detailing the events here.
