Since 1975, the Rotary Club of Winchester has served as host to the Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival. With net proceeds going to local non-profits, the Rotary Club of Winchester and Shenandoah Valley Apple Harvest Festival have raised over $1.2 million in the last 46 years. Local organizations that benefit from the Festival include Winchester Rescue Mission, the Laurel Center, Fremont Street Nursery and Winchester Day Preschool.
What’s in Store at SV Apple Harvest Festival
This year’s festival operates on 60 acres at Frederick County Fairgrounds and 90% of the Festival’s activities are outdoors. There are two open air buildings for artisans and vendors. BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair) for the musical acts, including Mojo Mothership and Wayne Lee Ray Band. Here are just a few of the festival’s events:
Interactive Canine Course (Sunday): For all breeds, sizes and ages. Bring your 4-legged friend to the pet festival, then visit other great pet friendly destinations on the VA Kids Trail.
Classic Car & Hotrod Show (Saturday): A great collection of antique vehicles.
Apple Pie Eating Contest (Sunday): Sponsored by White House/National Fruit.
Pie Baking Contest (Saturday): Bake your favorite and win $100!
FunZone: Just for the kids!
Tap & Cork: Enjoy a local hard cider or craft beer with your food concession while enjoy live music.
